Who is writing this, and how do we know the person behind Opslin?

I look after the business side of LNDRY: customers, laundry partners, orders and payments. I am not an engineer. The apps and software behind LNDRY were built by Sayan Mondal, an independent developer from Kolkata, and he is also the person who made Opslin. LNDRY and Opslin are separate businesses, and he does not work for us. I am telling you this up front because it affects how you read a review. We know him and we trust his work, and you should keep that in mind while reading.

What was our problem before Opslin?

When you run an app business, there is a part you never see: the server, the computer on the internet that keeps the app running. If it has a problem, orders stop, and as the owner I used to find out in the worst way, from a customer or a laundry partner telling me that something was not working.

Updates were the other worry. Every time the app needed a change, it depended on the developer logging in to the server and doing it by hand. If anything went wrong in the middle, nobody could say quickly what had changed or how to go back. I did not understand the details, and that is exactly what made me uneasy. I did not know whether the app was healthy right now.

What does Opslin do for us, in simple words?

Opslin is a tool that looks after the server for us. Our developer connects it once, and then it works in the background. For a normal business owner, these are the things I notice:

  • Updates reach the app on their own. When the developer finishes a change and saves it, it goes live without someone doing it by hand. Updates feel quicker and less stressful.

  • We hear about problems early. Opslin watches the server all day and night and sends an alert when something looks wrong. Now we often know before a customer does.

  • I can see when we are busy. There is a screen with simple charts that show how hard the server is working at different times. It helps me understand our busy hours and notice when something was unusual.

  • A bad update can be undone. If a new version causes trouble, we can go back to the last version that worked, with one click.

Is Opslin worth ₹299 a month for a small business?

For us, yes. The money is small compared with what a day of broken orders would cost us, and the real benefit is peace of mind. I no longer feel that the app is a black box that only one person understands. Please do not take that as a promise for every business. Your needs may be different.

What do we not like? The honest side of this Opslin review

Being honest is the point of this post, so here is the other side:

  • I could not set it up myself. Our developer connected it for us. If you have no developer or technical person, you will need help at the start.

  • Some screens still confuse me. The charts and logs are made for technical people, and I only understand part of them.

  • It is still in beta. The company itself says so. That means it is still improving, and you should expect some things to change.

  • It tells you about problems; it does not fix everything. The alert and the one-click undo help a lot, but a person still has to look at what went wrong.

Who should consider Opslin, and what should you ask first?

From our own experience, it suits a small business that already has an app or website and a developer, and that wants to stop being surprised by problems. Before you decide, ask your developer these questions:

  1. Where does our app run today, and who is watching it?

  2. How do we find out when it stops working?

  3. If an update goes wrong, how quickly can we go back?

If the answers worry you, a tool like this is worth a look. If you are happy with your current setup, you do not need to change anything because of our review.

Frequently asked questions

Is this Opslin review honest?

This is our own experience as a paying customer. We have also told you that the developer who made Opslin is the same person who built our apps, so you can judge it with that in mind.

How much do you pay for Opslin?

We pay ₹299 a month. Plans and prices on the Opslin website can change, so please check them before you decide.

Do I need to be technical to use Opslin?

Not to read the alerts or look at the charts, but setting it up needed our developer's help. We would not try to set it up alone without technical support.

What happens if an update breaks our app?

You can go back to the last version that worked with one click, and the alerts help you notice the problem sooner.

Does Opslin host our app?

No. Our app runs on a server that we own and pay for ourselves. Opslin helps manage and watch it.
